Many of us donated to a fundraiser, if you remember, which was paused when it reached the incredible sum of £3,300. There is now £392 left and we’ll leave it in the fund to see if Greenfield appeals. If they do, we’ll probably need a lot of £££s to fight them at the next round.
If they don’t, we hope you agree that the fairest way to use the remainder is to give it to charity. We’ll gather views and poll which charity both and on FB to see where people would like it sent. Watch this space…
The fund paid for flyers, printing placards, creating and hosting this website (all to local businesses) and a repeat sound survey as in our opinion Greenfield’s was not correct. It goes without saying I hope but will say it anyway – not a penny has been used for any other reason than supporting the opposition to the damaging plans. The 30-odd people who ended up researching, gathering planning precedents, delivering flyers, arranging public meetings, contacting councillors and MPs, communicating with similar protest groups to share information and, over weeks, writing the detailed ‘Friends of Brabourne’ response to Ashford Borough Council etc all gave their time and skills for free.
As we will again if the need arises!
